The Ark: Arts Based Learning: Cross Curricular Resources & Opportunities for Pupils

The Ark Programme is a dedicated cultural centre for children. They create opportunities for children to discover and love art. They equip and empower teachers and artists to deliver creative and educational activities for children through a programme of professional development opportunities. ThePostgraduate Diploma in School Leadership (PDSL) / Dioplóma Gairmiúil i gCeannaireacht Scoile (DGCS)is designed to prepare aspiring leaders with the knowledge, skills, confidence and qualifications for senior school leadership positions.

Athlone Education Centre is one of the designated centres to host this programme in collaboration with the University of Limerick, National University of Ireland Galway  & University College Dublin.

18 months, Part-Time, Blended Learning

The Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership is a part-time, blended learning programme consisting of 6 taught modules delivered in 12-week semester-long blocks during the academic year. Students attend an induction day in the University of Limerick prior to commencement in year 1.

Online Claims System Training March 22nd 11a.m. -1p.m.

Your school will be invited shortly to participate in the online claims system training session for the data inputter on OLCS,  which is being facilitated by the payroll division of the DES.

  • Primary Schools: Monday March 22nd 11a.m.-1p.m. Please note that a small group of Primary schools will participate in the preliminary training event on March 10th. The schools involved have alreday been notified. ALL OTHER PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN OUR CATCHMENT AREA WILL BE INVITED TO ATTEND ON MARCH 22nd. 
  • Post Primary Schools: Wednesday April 21st 11a.m.-1p.m.
