Minister Mc Hugh Officially Opens New Extension

Minister Joe Mc Hugh T.D., Minister for Education and Skills officially opened  Athlone Education Centre's new extension on September 26th 2019. The new extension consists of two new meeting rooms, a state of the art boardroom, additional office and storage space. Designed by Richard Rice of Healy Partners Architects in Limerick and bulit by Athlone building contractors, T. Murray & Sons, this extension has increased the Centre's capacity to cater for the 201 schools in its catchment area. Speaking at the official opening, Minister Mc Hugh highlighted the critical role that Education Centres play in helping to meet the new challenges in the education sector. 

 

                    

 

Minding Your Wellbeing: A Day for School Leaders Friday October 18th

Friday October 18th: 9.15a.m.-3p.m. This is a repeat of the Wellbeing day which took place in May.

Principals may wish to nominate their Deputy Principal or a member of their Middle Management Team to attend in their place. 

Please register under Primary Courses for this event. 

Lunch will be provided. Please note there is no substitute cover/travel allowance for this day. 

Additional Financial Training for Principals, Secretaries and Treasurers

Additional Financial Training for Secretaries, Principals and Treasurers of BOMs on the following dates:

  • Thursday November 28th 2p.m. - 3.30p.m.
  • Thursday January 9th 2020 2p.m.-3.30p.m.

 Registration is now open for the November 28th training.

An additional date will be organised for January 2020 if necessary. 

Playful Learning and the Curriculum (4 workshops) 7p.m.-9.30p.m.

Register now for a place on these 4 workshops which start on Septenber 24th.
