Participants who complete this course will gain the skills to teach reading through structured literacy to individuals, small groups, and entire classes. They will also become proficient in teaching children to spell by following structured methods and adhering to spelling rules. Additionally, they will be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive school-wide literacy strategies. Most importantly, they will be equipped to teach severely dyslexic children how to read and spell.

Mary Moran has dedicated nearly four decades to working with struggling readers. Trained in Orton Gillingham in the eighties, she has been teaching both privately and on contract in schools, utilising structured literacy. She has developed her own unique structured literacy programme, the DcodeDyslexia programme, which incorporates the approaches and methods she has successfully used in her private practice as a dyslexia tutor.
