Believe in Yourself: A 3-part series to help build children's confidence, well-being and resilience.
Facilitator: Fiona Forman, M. Sc. Applied Positive Psychology.
The series is suitable for 3rd – 6th class students. Each session is approximately 40 minutes long and students will need a pen and paper for the reflections throughout.
Part 1: Wednesday September 13th 9.45a.m-10.30a.m.
It’s Good to be Me:
Part 1 will give children the opportunity to reflect on their strengths and talents. They will identify their top 3 strengths and think about how they feel when they use these strengths. They will be encouraged to use these strengths during the week ahead. They will also reflect on things they feel proud of themselves for.
Part 2: Wednesday September 20th 9.45a.m-10.30a.m.
Creating a Positive Mindset
Part 2 will give children the opportunity to reflect on what having a positive mindset means and how they can develop one. They will be introduced to strategies for coping with challenges, including helpful self-talk and dealing with big feelings.
Part 3: Wednesday September 27th 9.45a.m-10.30a.m.
Believing in Myself
Part 3 will give children the opportunity to explore their beliefs about themselves and how to create a sense of self-belief and confidence. They will set some personal goals and explore ways to reach them.
