This series of 4 workshops will take place in Athlone Education Support Centre on Monday September 11th/18th and Monday October 9th/16th 3.30p.m.-5p.m. Suitable for Early Years Practitioners and Junior Infant Teachers.
Communication and languageskillsareat the centre of the learningprocess,andthey are one of the12 principlesof Aistear. Thisworkshopseries aims todemonstratethe links betweenAistear's Theme Communicating andspeech, language,communicationneeds.
Thefour workshopsaim to provideeducatorswith knowledge abouthow speech, language and communication difficulties directlyimpactchildren’s developmental and educational outcomes,healthand wellbeing. The facilitator will provide strategies toidentifyand support children with different speech,languageand communication abilities inthe preschool setting and in the junior classroom.
Eachworkshopin the series is linked and knowledge and strategies will be shared and discussed. We aim to have interactiveand practicaldiscussionsin personusing case scenarios.

ClareCarroll, PhD, is a registered speech and language therapist and a lecturer at University of Galway, Ireland. Clarehas a wealth of clinical experience from working in the Irish Health Service and in private practice.
