This workshop will provide excellent training for those involved in leading school groups e.g. Chairpersons of Boards of Management, Principals, Deputy Principals, In-School Management Teams, Subject Co-ordinators and Year Heads.
The session will unpack a range of strategies that when deployed yield an increased efficiency in terms of the output across the various types of meetings that school leaders encounter. It will explore the norms and protocols that best serve increased efficiency and robust decision making at staff and middle leadership meetings. It also aims to strengthen participants’ understandings of how best to scaffold effective meetings with other stakeholders. The session content will support schools in developing a framework for positive communication within their schools.

A series of 3 workshops to support cultures of collaborative reflection in schools and enhance the impact of teachers’ professional learning.
October 10th, 24th and November 14th 5p.m.-7p.m.
The ESCI (Education Support Centres Ireland) and the Teaching Council are co-hosting a series of three workshops for teachers interested in harnessing the power of professional learning to support their needs. The workshops are facilitated by practising teachers and will provide opportunities for schools to learn from each other through reflective conversations that are underpinned by Cosán, the National Framework for Teachers’ Learning. Facilitators will provide helpful tools and strategies to support teachers and school leaders in the development of flexible, autonomous, and context-relevant professional learning experiences for all.
Schools are invited to nominate three staff members (including one middle or senior leader) to engage in the workshops. In the case of small primary schools, there will be flexibility in terms of the minimum number of attendees per school.
To ensure maximum flexibility for participants, some Education Centres will collaborate to co-host workshops, with one Education Centre offering in-person workshops while partnered Education Centres will offer online workshops only. Teachers attending from the same school are strongly encouraged to attend workshops in the same Education Centre and delivery mode.
Workshops will be hosted by 18 Education Centres across the country and bookings can be made directly through the participating Education Centres. For full workshop schedule, visit www.esci.ie or click here for more information.
